Phillips has served as director of education strategy and grant making for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; was a classroom teacher; and an education leader in local, state, and national organizations. Underground: Freedom Stories Along the Borderlands

The documentary explores the growth of abolitionism in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky in the 1800s. The film focuses on events and discussions that occurred at Lane Theological Seminary in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati, as well as in Augusta, Kentucky, and other river communities. A 2025 production.

Paul G. Blazer - The Man Behind the Legend

The documentary explores the life of Paul G. Blazer, founder, former president and CEO of Ashland, Inc. In 1924, at age 34, he founded Ashland Refining Company, later named Ashland Oil and Refining Company, which became Kentucky's largest corporation. Blazer was an early proponent of racial equality, made funds available for college students, and was a driving force in the creation of KET. A 2019 production.

Two Bridges, One Project

This program explores how Kentucky leaders and other stakeholders came together for the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project - a project that built two new bridges, reconfigured an urban labyrinth of merging interstates, constructed a tunnel under a historic-and-protected property, and created miles of new highways. The project which took decades of debate and planning to get to construction was completed in December 2016. In the history of Metro Louisville, there has never been a project more impactful, more expensive, and more unifying.

Kentucky Life explores the American Revolution through Kentucky stories. Hero Daniel Goff was an African American soldier who fought in the War of Independence and later settled in Northern Kentucky; the remarkable bravery of the women of Kentucky's Bryan Station Settlement; Jack Jouett's heroic act and his Woodford County historic home; and Chip joins the reenactment of the Battle of Blue Licks at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park, which is considered the last official battle of the Revolutionary War.
